dsl business finance
DSL is a not for profit company whose aim is to finance start-up and growth companies.

SFLG

DSL is the first non-bank in Scotland to be accredited with SFLG membership.

Thanks to Small Firms Loan Guarantee, DSL is able to offer loans to clients that do not have sufficient security to borrow.

SFLG hailed as a potential financial lifeline by commercial finance company Venture Finance, is a great bonus for companies that have exhausted all available security. It is predominately used by start-ups but can be accessed by companies under five years old.

SFLG loans will be offered to viable businesses that have insufficient assets to use as security against borrowing. Privately owned businesses can apply for loans from £5,000 to £50,000 for under the scheme.

DSL manager Eunice Lancaster said ‘ DSL is keen to get the message to small businesses that we are interested in using SFLG to help them grow and develop their businesses. DSL are aware that banks are not offering this product as much as they did in the past and that usage has dropped from £481M in 2004 to just £225M last year.’

DSL is a partner company of CEiS, the largest development organisation working with the social economy in Scotland.

We are not a bank!

DSL is a Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI). Established in 1993, DSL is a not-for-profit organisation that operates in the central belt of Scotland. Unlike high street banks, DSL does not aim to maximise profits to shareholders but to reinvest in the development of the local economy by providing business loans to small businesses and social enterprises.
